Because of a massive January ice storm that stretched from the East Coast through Texas - with flights cancelled and many roads undrivable - roughly 200 speakers and attendees were unable to join us for the 16th and final edition of Data Day Texas. Many friends and alumni didn't get to enjoy a proper farewell. This has bugged me all year.

We had one more event scheduled for Austin - the Data Discussions in October. This is a preview of a new event series we're launching in 2027. Data Discussions is not an unconference - it's a highly curated weekend of salons with featured Animateurs.

Data Discussions becomes Data Weekend

After many conversations with folks who were unable to attend in January, we decided to extend the October Data Discussions to include both presentations and a few workshops as well. Data Discussions is now Data Weekend. To accommodate everything, we are booking additional rooms - as many as needed.

Although we are expanding the event - the early bird prices will remain the same.
