A Weekend with Bill Inmon
Long time Data Day Texas alumni Bill Inmon is returning to Austin for the inaugural Data AI Weekend. Bill has graciously offered to host the following workshop: Getting Business Value From AI. The workshop is open to all registered attendees, at no extra charge.
In the course of asking attendees what they wanted to hear from Bill at Data Day Texas 2026, I realized somewhere around the fifteenth answer that there was no single talk he could give that would satisfy a majority of the room. Not even two talks could do it. Many people had questions for Bill that they had been carrying around - some for many years.
So in the spirit of the Data Town Hall, I asked Bill if he would do an Ask Me Anything session instead. He liked the idea. And to keep the vibe flowing, I invited Joe MF Reis to moderate. People loved it.
Since Bill is already returning to offer a workshop at Data AI Weekend, we asked him if he would do the AMA again as well. It will be one more opportunity to present the questions that didn't get answered the first time, and whatever new ones you arrive with.
And outside of the AMA, Bill will be around all weekend.
Data AI Weekend is not an event where you pay to sit in an audience and watch people talk on a stage. It's the event where you do the things you can only do in person - small group conversations with mentors, partners, co-conspirators - reconnect with friends, and connect with those you've only followed online - and hang out with Bill.
